Makkinga Contracting and Equipment Rentals

Makkinga Contracting & Equipment Rentals is seeking a highly dedicated and organized individual to join our team as Equipment & Safety Manager. Previous knowledge of MTO regulations and OHSA is required.  Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.  Applicants must have knowledge of heavy equipment, commercial motor vehicles and automobiles. 

Applicants must be able to work extended hours with the ability to be contacted by phone on evenings and weekends.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and management of gravel trucks, float moves and heavy equipment.

  • Ensuring all MTO Regulations are followed.

  • Obtaining oversize/overweight permits as required.

  • Management of repairs and maintenance.

  • Billing for rentals, gravel, and material summaries for projects.

  • Purchasing for repairs and maintenance.

  • Quoting for float moves, equipment rentals and gravel.

  • Data entry.

  • Communication via telephone, e-mail and 2-way radio.

  • Hiring and scheduling of employees.

  • Health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Scheduling of employee training as required.

 

Salary will be based on experience and a benefits package is available.
