MOBILE CRUSHER HAND/OPERATOR
Makkinga Contractors is actively seeking applications for a Mobile Crusher Hand/Operator to join our team for immediate hire in Thunder Bay.
Qualifications:
- Surface Miner Common Core and applicable modules (mandatory)
- Previous experience in mobile crushing and heavy equipment operations
- Loader operating ability and proven experience
- Welding skills and knowledge of safe practices
- Proficiency with power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude for repair and maintenance of jaw crushers, cone crushers, screeners, and related equipment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to different project locations
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of crushers, screeners, etc.
- Conduct welding and repair tasks as required to maintain equipment functionality
- Use power tools effectively for maintenance and repair work
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Assist with setup, operation, and tear-down of mobile crushing plants
- Communicate effectively with foremen, managers, and other team members
- Travel to various job sites as required
Additional Information:
- Ability to repair heavy equipment as needed
- Comfortable using tablets and digital tools for reporting and documentation
- Strong communication skills via email, text, and phone
- Ability to complete and maintain Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) when driving commercial vehicles and properly complete inspections
